Q: MEDS sounds fantastic and I'd like to be involved - how do I take the first steps? A: We'd very much like to hear from anyone interested in the services MEDS has to offer. While anyone is welcome to telephone us or email us with ideas they have, requests or questions, we suggest this three step approach will allow us to give the best service and ensure we help you to the best of our abilities: 1. Read this website fully. Please read the whole of the website and see which parts of our work you would be interested in. Much more detail can be found in our Annual Report, and we suggest you read that as well to get a flavour of the type of organisation MEDS is. 2. Telephone or email us. Details are available in the contact us section. Tell us how you'd like MEDS to help you, of any ideas you have and a brief description of your current business (if applicable). If we agree that MEDS is for you, we'll make an appointment for you to come and have an... 3. In depth one-to-one personal chat. We'd welcome you to the MEDS office (map available in the contact us section) and go through everything with you in detail, tailoring our service to you and your needs.
A: Our service is free.
A: MEDS primary objective is to service the Merseyside Muslim Community. However our services are available to members of other communities for advice, information and sign posting. More information can be found in the Eligibily section of this website. A: Merseyside has a large Muslim community drawn from 45 countries with a high and disproportionate level of unemployment. Whilst there is a tradition of enterprise and self-employment, studies have revealed that exclusion exists through lack of appropriate skills/education and knowledge of business/training support services. MEDS has been formed to provide the crucial links and support to address these needs. More information can be found in the About Us section of this website.
A: The ethnic backgrounds MEDS serves are predominantly from the following Muslim communities: Yemeni, Somali, Nigerian, Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sudanese, Egyptian, Kurdish-Iraqi, Iranian. |
